Empowering children, building futures
At THE RUZICKA FOUNDATION, we believe in nurturing the potential within every child. Our work is dedicated to providing vital support, fostering independence, and creating a brighter future for vulnerable children in Africa.

Our journey with children
Our commitment to children in Africa began in 2002 in Gauteng, near Rustenberg. We acquired farms for renaturation, and it was there we encountered many children who had lost their parents due to AIDS and other challenging circumstances. The average age in the community was around 26. We provided support to the elder members, empowering them to help themselves and the younger ones to steer their community independently, without external organisational intervention. After just 18 months, a group of about 230 children successfully organised and managed their small village, demonstrating incredible resilience and capability.

Fostering self-reliance
When we support projects for children, our primary hope is to see them learn to stand up for themselves. We aim to cultivate a spirit of independence, ensuring they do not rely on external help that might ultimately serve the interests of other organisations rather than their own. We believe in empowering children to become active agents in their own development and the future of their communities.
