Protecting Africa's precious wildlife
At THE RUZICKA FOUNDATION, we are deeply committed to safeguarding Africa's incredible biodiversity. Our work extends beyond simple conservation, focusing on long-term impact for endangered species and their habitats. Discover our passion and dedication to these magnificent creatures.

Our passion for the white rhino
We are particularly dedicated to protecting the white rhino. Our efforts include promoting dehorning as a crucial anti-poaching measure, and we even launched the first auction for rhino horn to disrupt the black market. We have successfully introduced new rhinos to endangered areas, growing 24 out of 6 introduced ones within 24 years, a testament to our effective strategies.
The Ruzicka Foundation has engaged with conservation stakeholders, including PROA, in the debate around transparent, legally compliant stockpile management as a possible tool against wildlife crime.

Bringing elephants back to their homes
Our commitment extends to the magnificent African elephant. We successfully introduced elephants to a previously elephant-free area, resulting in a thriving population of 21 out of 7 introduced individuals over 22 years. This project exemplifies our dedication to restoring natural ecosystems and ensuring a future for these gentle giants.

Protecting cheetah family structures
Cheetahs are another key focus of our conservation efforts. We support several cheetah centres and actively promote education against poisoning to protect the delicate family structures of these gorgeous animals. Without strong family units, cheetahs often become problem animals, so our work ensures their natural behaviour and survival.

Supporting mountain gorilla conservation
In cooperation with Rwanda, we are actively involved in the conservation of mountain gorillas. We proudly support two of the 21 local gorilla families, contributing to their protection and the sustainability of their habitats. Our direct involvement on the ground and financial backing are crucial for these urgent projects.
